Dr. Brianna J. Hobson (she/her) is a Clinical Psychology Fellow at BCSC in Los Angeles. She earned her BA in psychology at the UC Berkeley and her PsyD and MEd clinical psychology with specialization in human sexuality at the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology (IGCP) and Center of Human Sexuality Studies (CHSS) at Widener University.

Dr. Hobson has experience working with individuals and groups across the lifespan, particularly adolescents, families, and young adults. She has worked with clients in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, inpatient and outpatient clinics in university hospitals. In her post-doctoral training at the EMPWR Program at UCLA, Dr. Hobson received specialized training in providing gender-affirming care with trans and gender diverse youth, young adults, and their families. Her research involves studying the experiences of trans and gender diverse youth with gender-affirming interventions and clinician’s needs in promoting positive sexual health with clients.

Dr. Hobson uses an integrative approach in therapy, drawing primarily from cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), relational psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care. She believes in creating a therapeutic environment that is warm, empowering, culturally sensitive, and collaborative.
