Anne Tootell, M.S.

Clinical Director, Psychology Assistant & DBT/CBT Clinician

Dr. Anne Tootell is the Clinical Director at Boston Child Study Center in Los Angeles. Anne is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP), and specializes in trauma interventions including DBT PTSD and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. Anne specializes in adapting these evidence based treatments to specific client needs within a trauma informed framework. She is particularly interested in the role of childhood trauma and complex trauma in the development and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, substance use, self-harm behaviors, interpersonal conflict, poor self-esteem, and personality disorders. Additionally, Anne believes discussion of intersectional identities (e.g. race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation) throughout treatment is crucial for the therapeutic relationship and effective treatment implementation.

Anne earned her BA in clinical neuroscience at Scripps College and her MS in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has recently defended her dissertation focused on cognitive control processing during behavior modification and will graduate with her PhD in clinical psychology this spring. Anne is currently accruing her clinical training hours to become a licensed clinical psychologist.
