Zoe Thorne, PsyD
Clinical Psychology Fellow
Dr. Zoe Thorne is a postdoctoral fellow at Boston Child Study Center – Los Angeles. She has a passion for providing intentional and culturally-responsive therapy to children and families from diverse backgrounds. She has received training and is experienced in implementing evidence-based therapy approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Dr. Thorne takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach to adapt treatment to the individual and their family, while building resiliency. She has found meaning in supporting youths in co-creating a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotions, and in accessing resources which support their ability to more effectively function in their environments.
Dr. Thorne completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in psychology. She received her M.A. and Psy.D in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University with her clinical training focused on children, adolescents, and their families. She completed an APA-accredited internship in Santa Monica, California with Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center, providing therapy and assessment in a community outpatient setting alongside school-based services and a hospital rotation as part of the interdisciplinary Cleft Palate Clinic team. Dr. Thorne’s doctoral dissertation focused on enhancing evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents who are survivors of trauma.
